Colobot: Gold Edition Official Teaser development
#4
Simbax Wrote:You know you can upload a non-public video to YouTube? Firstly, you'll see how it looks like with YT compression and adjust the format for the best quality. Secondly, it will be much easier and more convenient to watch it this way. I am not happy to have to download it, especially on my phone, I'd much rather watch it with the YouTube app with a proper quality for my screen and internet speed.
I made playlist for all my animatics and renders. Now you can see, how this animation evolve by the time.

@krzys_h: Ha! I told'ya! Without any GPU, rendering this will took even a years in some cases. Well, this is reality...

That 3D render is quite good, but where's my deph of field effect? That's important, because it hides some imperfections in the scene.

Well, maybe I'll try do this. I must be sure, if this will be any helpful for that animation.

New animatic coming tonight. Some rough changes has happened.

First thoughts after first render in 3D isn't good. I really don't like that Blender don't have any native support for stereo-cameras to make that renders easy and quickly without any scene copying, rewriting camera parameters etc. For now, this is way too low-level to make even the basic, single render. And the animation looks terrible, because for that I must completely rewrite all camera's keyframes. And without any preview in scene viewport... my English is too bad to say it correct Tongue . Maybe I'll do this in the future, in other animations?

UPDATE:
Recently with @Simbax we were testing newly implemented in the latest Blender OpenCL rendering. In just two days we've prepared new test render in good quality to see how it now look.

10 samples
640x360 (upscaled to 1280x720 for better YouTube quality)
30fps
The same settings would cost us at BlenderGrid about $10.49 USD

Here's the result:

Things to fix and to do:
- EPSITEC logo should be brighter and much clearer.
- ICC name also a little more light.
- Some obvious fixes with letters animation and dynamic.
- Better lights for the bot.
- More camera movement for better dynamic and "Wow!" factor.
- Last shot also with stardust effect, lens flare and blur.
- Dusty textures for Titanium cubes.
- ...and of course, music & sound effects.
